The Moment of Salvation David Field March 14, 2011
I saw all the paczkis in the grocery store the other day, for the
annual observance of something. Was there supposed to be another something that
follows this? The point is we don't hear much
about the 40 day fast after Fat Tuesday. Typical, Mardi Gras is a big thing in
New Orleans. Now Americans are having a national potato chip day. Why don’t we
have a national carrot eating day?
This
is just representative of the thinking. We take what we like, just like in a
smorgasbord, and leave the rest. Christianity clings tightly to the salvation
part of the bible. Emphasis is put on the moment of "a decision for
Christ", as it is put. But there is no concern for the rest of the bible
where Yah God is requiring obedience. That part is passed off as no longer
applicable to this generation. Or they will say, “You are trying to earn your
way into heaven”. It’s not about earning your way into heaven. It is just about
obedience. Yahushua said, “If you love me you will obey my commandments”.
And how people get mad when this is brought up, raining on their parade.
We want to make sure we have "given our life to Christ" at that
moment of salvation, but all that is really given is the life after this life
because there is nothing in this life given. You go about your business as you
would have otherwise. Walked the isle at a church: check, done. Buy a burial
plot: check. Make out a will: check, now ready for death. Now go back to what
you were doing, just enjoying the pleasures of life the best you know how.
Maybe go to church getting into this man made bless me country club. Attend pot
luck dinners after church service on Sunday. Greet and help bring in new church
visitors, get them caught up in the same thing as you are, which is just empty
meaningless worship. Yes you may even get all emotional at the alter from time
to time rededicating your life, but what really changes when you leave? It was
all emotion and no repentance because you still don't live your life according
to the unchanging word of Yah god given to Moses.
I hope somebody switches off the football game for a minute to think about what
is being said here and realize it is the truth directly from Yah Himself to you
right now. Don't just make a supposed decision or a rededication. Find out what
that entails. Have an actual repentance, which means to do an about face
turning away from the world's traditions and practices, and start practicing
the religion of Abraham.
The moment of salvation is when you stand before the judgment throne answering
for the decisions you have made in this life. Yahushua the Messiah said, "He
who endures to the end shall be saved". He who is with me all the way
to the end will be with me in the end. It has nothing to do with a moment of
decision as Christianity teaches. This lie will take many to hell in the end.
