Top Ten False Christian Beliefs
David FieldJanuary 4, 2012
The statement, “I used to think like you do, but I have
found the truth.” I can’t tell you how many times I have heard this as an
argument that the teller has the truth, and those that don’t believe him don’t
have the truth, and are not as far along in wisdom as he/she. What does this
prove because you used to think differently, and now you have changed? All it
really proves is that you were wrong, or are wrong now. Firstly this position
assumes that you always move forward in understanding. If just changing what
you think always leads to greater understanding then you could just change
everyday to something else.
This is my set of what I call “mainline Christian beliefs”
This set of beliefs are the most popular beliefs across all denominations of
Christianity, from the RCC to the charismatics. Each of these denominations has
their unique differences, but there are some core beliefs that are widely
shared to all.
1) Torah is for Jews, New Testament for Gentiles
2) Age of Grace, Faithfulness to Torah unnecessary for
salvation
3) Sunday Worship
4) Christmas and Easter honor Jesus
5) Birthday Celebrations
6) Tithing is the only Old Testament law still in effect
7) Trinity, Jesus and his Father are the same
person, and with the Holy Spirit
8) Pre-Tribulation Rapture
9) America is a Christian nation blessed by God
10) Israel today is Israel in the bible
Not all denominations agree with all of these items. I am
just stating these as the popular set of beliefs. For example, the Jehovah’s
Witnesses have found the truth about Christmas, and I commend them for it. The
Seventh Day Adventists have changed from Sun-day worshiping to Sabbath
observance. But both of these daughters of the harlot the RCC are still in
Babylon because they are still not Torah Observant, which makes them lawless.
Just because the JW’s believed that the father is not the
son, doesn’t mean it is wrong. That is one of the things they actually have
right. My journey to the truth started with the knock of a JW at my door. And I
was not afraid to talk to them because I always enjoyed talking about God to
anyone face to face. What I never liked was sitting in a pew, and listening to
a lecture of one man’s views. Does this mean that because Yah used a JW to get
the truth to me, that the JW must be saved? Not necessarily. Yah will use whatever means
necessary to get the truth to those that He knows will accept. He knows the
beginning from the end. He knows who will accept before they do accept the
truth.
