The word “god” is a description of a being that is above human, immortal, or not mortal. A “mortal” is subject to death. “Death” is ceasing to exist. So an immortal being is a being existing in the spiritual realm, and a mortal is a person existing in the flesh only. According to Paul in Romans 6, no man or woman has been granted eternal life as yet, until the rapture and final judgment. We know that everyone will die in the flesh, except those alive at the time of the rapture, both the forgiven and the unforgiven, so the word death in this verse does not only mean the death of the body. It means the death of the entire person, totally gone, a cease to exist.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death [thanatos – death, cease to exist]; but the gift of God [theos – Yahwah] is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord [kurios - master].
Now that we have all the word definitions in place, why is this important? It is very important to know who it is that created you, who is your father, and who you love and worship. Yahshua, the son of God the Father, Yahwah came to earth to bring His people back to the Father. Yahshua did not come to be the most high god, or to accept our worship. He came to lead the lost sheep back to into the father’s fold. He taught us to pray to, worship, and love the father.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
So if you stop at him, Yahshua, then you do not take his lead back to the father. When Yahshua said, “I am the way”, this implies a destination. Yahshua did not say he was the destination. If you do not find the destination, you will not arrive at the destination, which is eternal life with Yahwah the Father. Now do you see the gravity of this, and how changing the name has caused confusion? Many will die because of this false belief.
John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God [theos - Yahwah], and Jesus Christ [Yahshua the Messiah], whom thou hast sent.
I believe it really doesn’t matter what you call Him, but if you don’t understand who He is, and do not make him your destination, then you will not be with Him, God the Father, Yahwah. And how you understand him is initially by way of the scriptures. The bible we have to today has devalued all the proper names of the most high god Yahwah, to titles.
Translating text from language to language, proper names do not get translated to another name or word, they get transliterated, meaning the sound of the name remains as close to the original as can be represented in the new language. So the name of the creator god is YHWH, Yahweh, Yahwah, or similar spelling that arrives at or close to the same sound. The name in the original Hebrew means breath, for the breath of life. He is the giver of all life. His name means “I AM” life, everything that exists. Yah means “I AM” and Yahwah means “I AM that I AM”. He gave Moses his proper name as recorded in Exodus 3, and he instructed not to forget it.
Exodus 3 14And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM [YHWH]: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM [YAH] hath sent me unto you. 15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
Jeremiah 23:27 Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.
Once you understand this, you know that “God”, (God the Father), Yahwah did not come down to earth in bodily form. The father actually did send his son just as the bible states. And Jesus, (Yahshua) is not his own father, Yahwah. The two are their own persons, with their own will, although they are in harmony, in agreement. To be one with one another is not to be one another.
