In the Greek inspired western society today, a day begins at midnight. This is shortly after he goes to bed. The Jews and Muslims today say it begins the night before, at sunset, when he finishes his daily work and before he retires to bed for the night. Are either of these ways correct with the creator of nature? Why so much confusion? We are trying to use our Greek inspired mindset to sort it out. The Greek inspired mindset was instituted by Satan, who seeks to cloud things over, and change the creator’s nature. Lets get back to the Hebrew where things are clear, simple and natural.
Nature was created by the creator, so nature is in perfect harmony with the creator and his ways. The ways he taught to the Hebrew people through Moses. It is only natural to begin a day at the beginning. The problem is, in our Greek mind, we begin with the assumption that a day is a twenty four hour period of time. A day is twelve hours only, and a night is another twelve hours. A day is sunrise to sunset. The night is sunset to sunrise.
Because the bible states from one day to the next is a twenty for hour period, does not mean a day is twenty four hours. From any point of time in the day to the same point of the next day is twenty four hours, yes. The bible says, “what does the day have to do with the night?”, means they are two separate entities. The Greek mindset wishes to lump them together, as one. They are not one.
In Genesis, the night was mentioned first is an argument that a day begins at night. This should have nothing to do with when a day begins because as I mentioned, the night is not even part of the day. The night was mentioned first only because the world was first dark.
Leviticus 23:32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.
This verse tells the western mind that the day begins AT nightfall, at the time of the setting sun. But in the Hebrew, this is not the case. The word the KJV translates to “even” in Hebrew was “ereb” which was used meaning the entire night, at the beginning of night, or the end of night, and anytime the sun was down. So from one nightfall to the next, between these sundowns is the day, a twelve hour period of the day.
Why do you think it is called DAYbreak? The day is beginning at daybreak, at sunrise. And at nightfall, the night is falling upon us. So put away your shofar at night when everyone is trying to settle down and go to sleep. The natural time for that is in the morning.
