The Origins and Meanings of Christmas David FieldNovember 2, 2009
During the dark ages, the pagan people of Europe worshiped the evergreen trees, and brought them into their houses during the winter months. Lights in the form of candles were thought to thwart off evil spirits. These holidays varied from place to place but were celebrated in the dead of winter when it was most dark. Drunkenness, eating indulgence, sexual indulgence, human sacrifices, and singing from house to house while naked, where part of this holiday, then called the Saturnalia carnival. The Catholic Church revived the tradition of torturing Jews for the amusement of the Roman citizens. Forcing Jews to run through the streets naked, while onlookers jeered, whippings, beatings, rape of the Jewish women, and the killing of Jews was all a part of the observance that lasted into the 1800’s in some parts of Europe. A Catholic bishop named Nicolas who lived in the fourth century AD is where the stocking stuffing, and the St. Nicolas traditions are derived. Later, writers began selling Christmas stories, and the tradition of Christmas has now grown into what it is today, a huge pack of fairy tales.
In the forth century AD, the Roman Emperor Constantine sanctioned the Roman Catholic Church. Noticing that his Christian (as the Romans called them, a term of mockery) population was more law abiding, he decided to make this the national religion. Christians welcomed this as opposed to the persecution they had been receiving at the hands of the Roman Empire. Constantine stated he had received a vision that this God would bring him victory in battle. Then he went about his business as usual of killing for self-glorification, but now in the name of religion. This is one reason many atheists denounce religion, and God with it. In an effort to bring the Roman Pagans into the fold, the church sanctioned the holiday we now know as Christmas. But the theme of Jesus birth was added to in an effort to justify the holiday.
But nowhere in the bible are God’s people instructed to celebrate Jesus’ birth as a holiday. And omission is not permission, or instruction. The first immigrants to America, the Puritans did not celebrate this holiday, as it was too extravagant, and knowing of it’s origins. It was later brought into America by Catholics through New York.
God describes his seven feasts in the Old Testament, some of which he did instruct his people (those calling themselves Christian are grafted in) to observe until the end of days. Birthday celebrations are not mentioned in the bible. Birthday celebrations are derived from paganism as well. The satanic bible teaches the number one and most important holiday is your birthday. It teaches to worship the God of self, and that your birthday is the best way to do that. Enjoying a feast and a get-together with your family is sanctioned and blessed of God during his feast times The attempt to change a pagan holiday into a God holiday is an attempt to build something good upon junk, and is a compromise.
This holiday has reeked more havoc on our society than any other holiday. Materialism is idolatry, and is what our children are learning from it. And this Godlike person, St. Nick hears all and sees all. Children send their Santa letters, kind of like praying for junk. A huge section of our GNP is squandered on this holiday. Americans are buying useless junk for themselves, who largely already have everything they need. A large portion of it goes to waste. Many parents wait until Christmas to give some of these things to their children. It is now not a gift, but a waiting period, which is the opposite of a gift.
Most Christians know that to celebrate Halloween is to honor demons. But the celebration of Christmas is a subtle deception. Satan puts a false front on evil things to fool people into his plan, and it is working very well. He has got the majority of those calling themselves Christians suckered with this. Almost all churches in America will have a Christmas tree on the stage this time of year. While Christians and Atheists fight and argue over the display of the nativity scenes in the public square, Satan laughs with glee as the instigator because both sides to this argument are foolish.
Did anyone ever stop to question, why do even non-Christians celebrate this holiday? And why are those who do not choose to celebrate it made out to be “Scrooge”, as propagated by the Hollywood movie, and the fairy tale story. Remember subtle; this is actually negative name-calling, and not God’s way. You should be able to tell the enemy by the tactics used, and the results of.
