Celebrating the Holiday? David FieldSeptember 7, 2010
Christians put forth the same arguments for celebrating halloween as christmas and easter, as follows:
"It doesn't matter about the origins of the holiday because that is not what i celebrate. i am not celebrating witches and such, i am just dressing u...p as one for fun and that is all. Honoring demons is not what is in my heart, and God looks at the heart, the intention."
The truth is, Your heart is set toward making excuses for honoring Satan.
And december 25 (winter solstice) was always celebrated as birthday of the son of satan in paganism and satanic worship, and way before Jesus birth. Satan will take worship however he can get it, and a lie is ok with him. You say, "we are celebrating Jesus' birth". You are worshiping the golden calf.
Christians condemn the children of Israel for their misdeeds and then repeat the exact same offenses. The Israelites thought they were worshiping Yahweh with the golden calf when in actuality they were not, because Yahweh never told them to worship in this way. It was outright disobedience, and it angered Yahweh God.
It is the same for these holidays, Christmas in particular. Jesus never instructed us to celebrate His birth in this way, or in any way. God's instructions for celebration are clearly laid out in the bible.
It doesn't matter how you excuse it away, you are a hypocrite if you condemn the children of Israel for worshiping the golden calf and then you do the same exact thing, using a different method.
You think you are living in the age of grace, and can get away with anything as long as you are in church on Sunday? God's grace does not cover your disobedience. This is of the freedom of choice God's grace has allowed you. This is YOUR choice, the choice that is put before you. This will separate the sheep from the goats.
And by the way, Sunday, that is not God's day. There is really nothing most of you are doing that pleases God, in your christian tradition. Sorry to be so rough, the intent is to save your soul. Keep taking the easy road to destruction, or change your path to redemption. Jesus said, "if you love me you will do as I say." You would follow him and His ways, instead of Satan and his tricks. It is much easier to follow the world, but this is not what the children of God are called to do. Do you want to stay in captivity, stay in Egypt, or join the kingdom of heaven?
