The Non-Believers Deception David FieldDecember 5, 2009 In this universe, there are but two powers. On the one hand you have the creator of the universe, God almighty. As the creator the universe and humanity, it only stands to reason that he has no ill will toward us. God’s number one attribute is Love. God is Love. God represents everything that is good… life, love, peace, joy, and success, and every good thing in existence. Truth is his weapon.
On the other hand you have one of his fallen angels, Lucifer, called Satan since his fall from heaven. Lucifer held the highest position of the angels in heaven. His pride welled up and he felt himself greater than the creator. He desired to take the place of God and convinced one-third of the angels to follow him as they made war against the angels of God. Lucifer did not prevail in this heavenly war, and he and his followers where cast out of the presence of God unto the earth. Satan is very bitter because of this, and is diametrically opposed to everything God is and represents. Satan is death, hate, war, despair, failure, and every evil imaginable. Lies are his tactics. Satan is the father of all lies.
By now you have noticed the balance sheet is heavily stacked against Satan and his angels. Since he took one-third of heaven with him he is out numbered two to one. This doesn’t even count the creator of all himself who holds more power than the balance of the universe, including all the angels combined. You should also realize who is on your side and who is against. Seems a fairly simple choice to simplest of minds. God wants only good for you, and Satan wants you to suffer and die.
But oddly enough, most people are on the wrong and loosing side. Here is the problem... Lies. The lie is that God equals religion, and rules. Religion has been put forth as self-denial, misery and servitude. We aren’t allowed to have any fun under these conditions. But what about fun? That would fall under joy. Who is going to supply joy, and where will you find despair? Satan is dangling fun before you, just to pull the rug out from under you. The old bait and switch. And under this regime of religion we aren’t allowed to avenge our perpetrators. The truth is, we don’t have to. Another lie is that revenge brings contentment.
The big lie is that God equals rules. People want to life by their own rules, so they reject this God they have come to falsely understand. The only rule is that you must love God to be with him. That is it. This is what Jesus said when asked, “which is the greatest of the laws?” Then he said the second law is to love one another. Is that so difficult? Once we do that, all these other laws or rules fall into place. These rules are for our own protection only, and do not directly benefit God. He did not make a bunch of rules just to make life miserable as is thought. These rules were made for our own protection, out of a true concern or our happiness and safety. I don’t care which rule you break, there is an automatic and natural undesirable consequence to the breaking of the rule. Sometimes we don’t see the consequence, but it is there. You are given the freedom to break the rules, but you only will suffer the consequences.
There it is. The big deception, and possibly the biggest and the most devastating lie ever propagated upon humanity. If you claim to be on the side of good, and do not love God, you have been deceived by this lie. Which side do you want to be on? The choice is yours. I can’t make it for you. I can only bring you the truth.
If you have been on the wrong side, repent, which simply means to change the direction in your life. Change direction and follow Christ. God is a perfect God. Remember the opposing forces? Perfect is the opposite of imperfect. Who would accept imperfection when perfection is available? God surely cannot compromise himself. All humanity is imperfect because of sin. There is no reconciling this sin, and therefore no one will be allowed into the presence of God, and eternal bliss. But wait, Jesus the perfect one, as God’s only begotten son, has bore all our sins. He has paid the price for our redemption, and is offering it to us as a free gift. The blood of Jesus covers (meaning pays the price) our sin, so that when we accept this payment, God now will see NO sin in us! We are VERY fortunate to have this option available to us! It would be a shame to pass this up! Nothing in life is of more value.
I contend that you don’t love God only because you don’t yet know him. Don’t hang on to your worthless life, and the things you feel you can’t give up. He will help you with all that. Put your trust in the only trustworthy one in the universe.
