Confrontational Or Boldness David Field April 4, 2010
I realize I sound radical and confrontational. Am I alright with it? Not really. It is out of my comfort zone. I wish you all knew already what I am saying so it wouldn’t have to be said. I wish someone else where saying it, so I wouldn’t have to. It is a burden to speak the truth knowing I will be under the microscope, and accountable for what I teach. I only do and say what I am told, and that is because I know it is right. Jesus said, I only do and say what I have seen the father do and say. Jesus said he is a perfect reflection of the father. I try to be the best reflection of Jesus I can be with the help of the Holy Spirit, who gives me boldness.
Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, whenmenshall revile you, and persecuteyou, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
John 8 38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. 39They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them,If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. 40But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. 41Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. 42Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. 43Why do ye not understand my speech?evenbecause ye cannot hear my word. 44Ye are ofyourfather the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 45And because I tellyouthe truth, ye believe me not. 46Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? 47He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hearthemnot, because ye are not of God.
John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him,Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thouthen,Shew us the Father?
Luke 12 48But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with fewstripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. 49I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? 50But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! 51Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: 52For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. 1 Thessalonians 2 2But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention. 3For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile: 4But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts. 5For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness: 6Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.
Acts 4 18And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 19But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. 20For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
It would be much easier for me if I were just to tell you things that made you love me. I am plenty capable of doing that. But if it takes getting people upset with me to save their souls, then so be it. It takes a lot more love for me to tell you the truth in the effort to save you from destruction, than it would for me to lie or withhold the truth. So you should rather hate me if I were to be so selfish as to withhold the truth, just so that you will like me. Can you see that I am not doing this for my own benefit?
Every time I have stepped out and did and said what the Holy Spirit has instructed, I have always come out the victor. And every time I did not, I have not. It has always taken courage, but I also don’t dare go against God because I am afraid now to be out of his protection.
Can you judge what God has told another man to preach? We must pray for him to hear the voice of the Lord and make it our goal as well. How could anyone find fault for my being confrontational, when they don’t possess the courage in Christ to do the same?
Romans 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
Jesus was confrontational when the occasion called for it, as was John, Paul, Jeremiah, Isaiah… shall I go on? All these men were not afraid to tell the truth even when it offended the sinner. The world would hate these men today just as much as they did then. Jesus called the Pharisees vipers, and sons of Satan, and John called everyone that contradicted God, a liar. But then they were very loving to the meek. Read the bible how bluntly these men told the truth before getting offended at me. Check the fruit of what I am doing. I am not putting people down for the sake of meanness. I am trying to lift them up in truth and knowledge of Jesus Christ. If you are offended by what I say, check yourself. If you find you have no faults, walk away, and don’t let it bother you. I know it is not up to me to pursue you, unless you ask further.
The church today is afraid of confrontation and makes excuses not to be. They say to carry the spirit of love and display a loving nature to all. This is all well and good, but love sometimes is telling the truth, even if the truth hurts. The truth will set you free.
When I see people having their fun and games, and totally oblivious to their own destruction, I am deeply troubled out of love for them. I see people going to church and think they are doing the will of God, and haven’t got a clue as to what that is. I am talking here to everyone, top down. I know I’m insulting some of you, and you would ask me, “Who do you think you are? Do you have a preaching degree?” I have no need for a preaching degree from men, however Godly you may think they are. I would just have to unlearn all that man-made religiosity. I am still unlearning what those men have learned from other men, and have taught me to this point. Don’t ask on what authority I speak. Rather compare what I am saying to the Word of God, and test it against the Holy Spirit. Don’t test it against what makes you feel good. Test it against what is right.
Matthew 7 13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wideisthe gate, and broadisthe way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because straitisthe gate, and narrowisthe way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neithercana corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Most Christians do not realize what Jesus meant when he said at the sermon on the mount, “broad is the way that leads to destruction”. They also do not fully grasp what is meant when he said “many false prophets”. I am trying to bring this into clear view for all to understand. This is important! When Jesus said these things, he really did mean it! Where would you find such false prophets? Where would you think Satan would want them? Right in the front of your church, standing behind the pulpit in a place of authority. These preachers don’t even know they are false prophets, for they too have been deceived by men that taught them. These many false prophets are being pumped out of the bible colleges yearly. If you are one of these preachers, and are just like the norm, you should check yourself. There is no safety in numbers.
1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Timothy 4 1I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
Any church or preacher that teaches false doctrine, however unknowing, is as Paul put it, teaching the “doctrines of devils”. So when I say the church is teaching the worshiping false gods through the practice of pagan holidays, this is what I mean. This is not the time for you to get offended. This is the time for repentance. You should have no problem with the truth, so don’t shoot the messenger. And do not be afraid of losing half your church. Those are not going to be saved anyway. It will be their choice. You will have a better chance of saving them if you are first saved.
Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Romans 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
Don’t take your sins lightly, by saying I will still get into heaven if I sin. If getting into heaven is your goal, you will not achieve that goal. If God took sin lightly, he wouldn’t have sent his son to die.
You won't be able to say you weren't told. On the day you stand before Jesus, and he says he never knew you, it will be because you didn't seek him. Instead you made excuses why to follow the traditions of men. Jesus said there would be many false prophets, so if I am out numbered, or even if I am the only one, so be it. I would rather be the only man standing with Jesus than to stand with the entire world full of men. Let God be true and every man be a liar. Don't take my word for it. Go to the scriptures.
Matthew 28 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, evenunto the end of the world. Amen.
Love to all and my brothers (that means women too) in Christ
